Parisian Brand Photoshoot for Personal Brand Strategist Anna Vatuone
One of my favorite parts of what I do is getting to photograph women entrepreneurs who subsequently turnout to be some of my closest friends! About a year ago, I met Anna Vatuone through Instagram and we’ve remained close ever since. I think the reason we connected right away was because we both share a passion for personal branding and entrepreneurship. She works as a Personal Brand Strategist and is the founder of Personal Brand Accelerator (impressive, right?).
Recently, she reached out to do a photoshoot so she could have some fresh images that would help rebrand her website and update the overall look. Before the exciting two-day shoot, I met with Anna to discuss what she wanted captured. She came prepared with a vision and a moodboard. Since her brand is so refined, Anna was set on keeping the shoot warm, classic and sophisticated. She also wanted to add some Parisian flair, which can be seen in the cream and gold color theme and the dainty elegance of the props used.
I decided to use North Beach as our “Paris'' for the day and we were fortunate to find some perfect spots that fit with her brand colors and overall theme. Nothing says Parisian more than sitting in a quiet, outdoor cafe enjoying a frothy latte and a buttery croissant; I was able to get some shots of Anna doing just that at Cavalli Cafe.
We then moved on to other parts of the neighborhood where we were able to use the city as our playground. Anna brought out her bike and I followed behind her with my camera, as she peddled around the streets of San Francisco. We added a little bit of edge to the shoot when Anna changed into a black leather jacket and a pop of red shoes. These made for some timeless shots that highlighted Anna’s confidence.
The next day of the shoot was taken inside where Anna included some of her team and colleagues. These images were definitely more professional and showcased Anna as a leader . We captured headshots of each team member, Anna working 1-1 with students, and some with her and a podcast mic for The Personal Branding Podcast. One of my favorites is her “hero image” that can be seen on her website! She and the others gathered around with their laptops and sat on this amazing, white couch (I think it’s the one shown on the Kardashian’s!). Let me just say these were two days that were well spent. Not only did I have fun spending time with my friend, but I got to help her build her brand and make her feel like the beautiful, empowered entrepreneur she is.
