Colorful Brand Photoshoot for a Revolutionary Mindset Coach
I’m always so amazed by how inspiring the women entrepreneurs I work with are! It’s funny how so many of our stories are so similar. When I first began developing my own business, I had the opportunity to attend a workshop by Business & Life Coach, Gieselle Allen. She spoke about the concept of values, which helped me determine my personal values for my own brand. It made me realize how understanding your unique core values can lead you to having more happiness in your business and life.
Gieselle recently reached out to me to do a photoshoot so she could have a variety of photos to use for the next year. She was already very confident in what her brand was in terms of an entrepreneur, so the goal of this shoot was really to let her shine.
After discussing her vision for this photoshoot, we came up with a plan to incorporate vibrant colors and a feeling of spirituality, freedom, and liberation. The photoshoot took place in Oakland and began in a cozy home setting. This part of the shoot was much more intimate, as I captured Gieselle in an inviting living room while reading a book and surrounded by the nurturing element of greenery. These images were serene and made Gieselle appear very trusting as a leader.
We then moved on to focus on professional studio shots that Gieselle could use for her website and landing pages. This is where we included the vibrancy of the colors she wanted to work with that acted as backdrops. Our goal was to stick to her brand colors, which are hues of orange, purple and red. Using these colors allowed her beauty to pop and enhanced her glow in these images.
The last part of the photoshoot was focused on lifestyle. We explored different neighborhoods in Oakland where Gieselle felt a personal connection with. She wanted these images to feel as though she was out with a friend who was taking pictures of her. We went downtown where we shot in front of anti-racism murals that were fitting for Gieselle’s brand, as she focuses on her mission of working with women of color entrepreneurs and helping them own their confidence and find community. Ultimately, Gieselle really thrived in this part of the photoshoot and I loved the results!
We wrapped up the photoshoot at Temescal Regional Park just in time for Golden Hour like we had planned. While we were surrounded by the captivating charm of nature, these images were purely Gieselle. She allowed herself to let go and be an inspiration through the camera. I’m so grateful Gieselle and I have been able to support each other as female entrepreneurs by using our own passions. I hope you can see what a great leader and friend she is through these images!
