Bringing Brand Personality to Life: A Plant Stylist Brand Shoot in Berkeley

One of my favorite parts of being a brand photographer for women entrepreneurs in the Bay Area is collaborating with creative founders who are building something deeply personal. This brand shoot was for a plant stylist and interior greenery expert whose work blends aesthetics with intention—bringing homes to life with thoughtful, low-maintenance plant styling.

Her brand centers around helping busy professionals—especially homeowners and renters in Marin County and San Francisco—incorporate houseplants into their spaces in a way that’s beautiful, functional, and easy to maintain. With a background in media and marketing, she came into entrepreneurship ready to tell a new story: one where she’s the face of the brand, not just the strategist behind it.

We started the session in her home in Berkeley, a cozy space filled with warm light, vintage touches, and—of course—plants. We styled vignettes with her cat, her favorite “Planty” coffee mug, and plenty of greenery to reflect the heart of her work: creating spaces that breathe and bloom. From casual, candid moments to more editorial portraits, the goal was to capture the feeling of warmth, ease, and joy that defines her brand.

Then we transitioned to the Berkeley Horticultural Nursery for a second look into her creative process. These images showed her browsing plants, taking notes, and pulling a wagon full of leafy inspiration—exactly the kind of behind-the-scenes content that connects with her audience and helps build trust online.

Throughout the shoot, we wove in brand colors—creamy whites, soft pinks, hints of gold—alongside textured pots and vibrant plant life. The final gallery is full of visual storytelling she can use across her website, social media, and marketing platforms.
