How Shifting Your Mindset Can Help You Grow Your Business

Let’s start growing your business

You might know me as a San Francisco based personal brand photographer. And while that is true, what you might not know is I am also a coach for creatives like yourself. My mission is to help individuals like you, who are good at what they do, become the CEO of their own business. You might be thinking, “Wait, I am my business, therefore I must already be the CEO.” Yes, that is all true. But I want to help you really take on that role of moving from a freelancer to leveling up to a luxury business model.

Yes, you heard me. Luxury. I’m not talking about driving the fanciest car or carrying the most expensive bag (although that’s great too if that is what you desire). What I really mean is getting to a place of abundance. And when I say abundance, I’m really talking about gaining more time without sacrificing your revenue. By becoming the CEO and treating your craft as a business, I have no doubt you can get there. How, you might ask? Well, that’s where I come in.

Why you feel drained

If you’re anything like the creative I was years ago, you might be running around saying yes to every single client who approaches you and taking whatever low price they're willing to pay. When I started my photography business, I thought I had to take on every type of gig; all the way from weddings every Saturday to constant brand photoshoots, restaurant shoots, family sessions, you name it— just to hit my revenue goals. The reality was, I was draining my energy and it wasn’t sustainable. I wasn’t prospering. It didn’t matter how much money I made if it meant I was burned out and had no time. If this sounds at all familiar, let me help!

Focus on your value

Everything shifted when I chose to focus on the value of my photography packages.

Have you ever wondered how a restaurant could charge $17 for a hamburger, while McDonald’s is down the street charging less than $5? The restaurant owner is not second guessing their price because of McDonald’s. They know they are serving a different problem and a different clientele. They aren’t just concerned with the hamburger. They care about the entire customer experience— the interiors, the customer service, and the quality. This is how I want you to think about your business. How can you price yourself for the value you provide?

The key to running your own business as a creative entrepreneur, is to find ways to make your brand more sustainable. Don’t just work sale to sale, but think of ways that you can save your energy while being more prosperous. Think value. Think luxury. Don’t worry, you don’t have to do all the brainstorming on your own. I have some ideas up my sleeve.
