My Favorite Podcasts for Creative Women Entrepreneurs Right Now

My favorite podcasts right now have a theme. They are usually women entrepreneurs who have built successful businesses, yet feel relatable. The podcasts I tend to love remind me of going to coffee with a mentor or a close friend. When listening to these in particular, I find myself getting random ideas and I get excited about the thought of working on my business.

I’m not going to lie, there are weeks when I feel uninspired and unmotivated to get things done. I feel like the to-do list is never ending or I forget why I started running my own business in the first place. Entrepreneurship can feel really lonely, especially if you’re like m, doing it solo with out a partner or a team.

Finding a creative community to plug into, signing up for a co-working space, and forcing myself to attend local events have all been really helpful. However, there are also days when I need to push myself to get out of the house and get back into the headspace of just showing up. Over the past few years, I found that one of the best ways to do this was to listen to podcasts.

The best part about podcasts are that you can download them straight to your phone (cheers to no data required!) and listen to them from anywhere. I will usually download 10 episodes before boarding a flight or commuting for the week. Getting off the plane with an inspired energy is a great way to come back from a trip before the vacation blues sets in.

In no particular order, here’s what’s keeping me inspired these days.

Amy Porterfield - Online Marketing Made Easy

For some reason, Amy’s voice is so calming to me and enjoying the voice of a podcast is probably the most important factor to becoming an ongoing listener. What I love about Amy’s podcast is that her marketing tips are so straightforward and to the point. She also breaks it down in a way that is incredibly easy to understand (hence the name of her podcast!) and guides you to actually take action with clear steps. I love that she keeps it real and doesn’t hide any marketing secrets.

Jenna Kutcher - Goal Digger

I’ve been a long time follower of Jenna Kutcher. As a women who left her corporate career to become a photographer, her story is so familiar to mine. As a creative, I love that she talks about her mistakes as a photographer and interviews other creatives who are pursuing their dreams.

Brooke Castillo - The Life Coach School Podcast

This podcast is a serious game changer. Any time I need to check myself mentally, I listen to Brooke. As a Life Coach, Brooke uses real-life client challenges and breaks them down to a T. I never in a million years realized how topics like “How to Have a Difficult Conversation” and “Why You’re Not Taking Action” could be broken down to changing your thoughts, which changes your feelings, and results to creating new actions. The best part? Not only are these explanations mind-opening, she walks you through how to change those thoughts and get the results you’re looking for.

Girlboss Radio with Sophia Amoruso

Girlboss was the very first podcast I got hooked on and it’s the podcast that made me realize there is this whole world of women doing really cool things. Each week, Sophia hosts a different woman in a variety of industries to discuss their career path. She starts off talking to them about their very first job and how they got to where they are today. What I love about this is that it goes to show you how everyone’s path is vastly different.
