I loved this blog photo shoot with Aimee Rancer from The Ohio Transplant!
Aimee found me on Instagram and she booked a 1-hour lifestyle session at Alamo Square Park. Even though we just met in-person for the first time, it felt like we had already known each other. It turns out she hosted my boyfriend at a Thanksgiving dinner years ago. That's San Francisco for you! Small world.
She had two outfits to photograph and both included jumpers (jumpers are personally my favorite clothing item to wear while shooting and vacationing this year!) Typically for blog photo shoots, I will photograph 1-3 outfits. For this particular session, we stayed in one neighborhood, which made things pretty smooth. Since it was at high sun in the middle of the day, we stuck to shady areas and I found some historic homes in the area that went perfectly with her looks!
Blogger - Career Story:
Hillary Jeanne Photography: When did you start blogging and how did you start?
Aimee Rancer: Several years ago I was working in high tech PR and felt the need to be creatively fulfilled. I've always loved fashion – consuming fashion blogs regularly – and decided to start a fashion and lifestyle blog. I've had The Ohio Transplant ever since 2012 and have never looked back!
HJP: What's your favorite part about running The Ohio Transplant?
AR: While time consuming, my blog has been one of the best things I've done! I've met countless inspiring individuals, worked with some pretty epic brands, and have grown into a more strategic individual. Excited to see how the next 7 years go! :)
Blog Photo Shoot Review:
My first time shooting with Hillary was a few weeks ago. When we first met, she made me feel completely at ease – something hard to do with a new photographer. Not only is she insanely nice and kind, but she's wildly talented. For someone who somewhat clueless when it comes to do with moving my body, Hillary was so helpful in providing direction that was thoughtful! Can't wait to work with her again. :)
