This week I had a lifestyle photoshoot at Baker Beach with Bridgette Thornton. Bridgette is a talented artist and textile designer based in Berkeley, California. She's known for painting colorful flowers and has recently partnered with brands, such as Anthropologie and Serena & Lily. Her art is used in their home decor... think plates, wallpaper, and blankets, and more!
Summer in San Francisco tends to be quite foggy, but this created a beautiful light on the evening of the shoot. I always love working with Bridgette because she's an artist, so it's always great to share insight about the industry. We also just click, so it's like hanging out with a close girlfriend. Working with clients that feel like friends is probably what I love most about my job! :)
For this session, Bridgette and I worked together to create lifestyle images for her newest product, scarfs. No surprise, but these scarfs are gorgeous!!! They are so colorful, feminine, and totally my style. I'm all about wearing a neutral wardrobe and then accessorizing with color. She had three different scarfs to photograph and decided Baker Beach would be the perfect location to showcase them. The goal of this shoot was to show off the scarfs and the different ways they could be worn. She wanted to get the scarfs up close to show the details, but also wanted some fun lifestyle shots for Instagram.
Check out the rest of Bridgette's work here.
Also, for this session I created my first YouTube video!!! It definitely needs some work and I need to get used to being in front of the camera, but it's not bad for a first trial. Scroll down to the bottom to see a glimpse behind the scenes. In this video, I go through a demo on how I edited these images. Let me know in the comments if you like these tutorials and what you want to see in future videos!
